Firstly, a fiddle is simply a violin with a flatter bridge so that it's easier to play 2 strings at the same time, getting a harmonising effect between the 2 strings. This is quite a common effect in irish / celctic style fiddle.
Some of the tunes you may play on Celtic Fiddle include dance tunes like jigs, reels, hornpipes and the slow airs.

Focus
The focus of these lessons is to master the fundamentals of the instrument first, as it is traditionally played at high speed and without the fundamentals, the wheels can fall of very quickly as the tempo rises.
Elements such as finger positions and bowing are first and foremost, followed by some of the artsy special effects.

Lessons:
